The Strokes Play 12-Song Set at Bernie Rally, Live Debut + More!

It was an exciting night in Durham, New Hampshire for the hybrid Bernie Sanders and Strokes fans. The iconic indie rockers, who endorse and support the one true progressive democratic candidate Bernie Sanders, performed a free show at his rally at Whittemore Center Arena last night, February 10th.

This marked the band's first concert in New Hampshire, and their first gig of 2020! They fired off the rally by performing a cover of Talking Heads' "Burning Down the House," a fitting pun for "BERNing down the house" in honor of Sanders' strong grassroots movement and humanitarian views.

The rest of the 12-song set included the live debut of an unreleased song titled "Bad Decisions." The Julian Casablancas-led band teased that their brand new album, The New Abnormal, will be dropping April 10th. This will be their first LP since 2013's Comedown Machine! You can preorder it starting today:

The rest of the set featured a mix of songs from their earlier albums like "Someday," "Hard to Explain," and even "The End Has No End," which hadn't been performed since 2014. They also had licks from later albums like "The Adults Are Talking" and "Ize of the World."

After performing "You Only Live Once," the quintet debuted another brand new song titled "At the Door." They didn't perform it live but instead introduced the recorded version with an animated music video premiere. Check it out right here:

Last but not least, the band gifted rally goers with an encore, appropriately with "New York City Cops." Hyped up fans joined the band on stage, ironically cuing ACTUAL cops to get up there to "assess" the situation and escort them off, this was all while Casablancas sang

🎢"New York City Cops, but they ain't too smart." 🎢

It was just all too perfect.
