Rival Sons Kick Off North American Leg of "Feral Roots" Tour

After garnering major success from their European Feral Roots tour, Long Beach-native rockers Rival Sons are bringing their latest tour back home to the U.S.! The band kicked off their North American leg of the Feral Roots tour in Dallas, Texas on April 4th to a slew of eager fans waiting to hear the new material live.

The band kicked off their opening night with Roots track "Back In The Woods." The third track from their latest album opened the show with fast-paced classic drum beats reminiscent to the intro-drum sequence of Van Halen's top-tier track "Hot For Teacher," but that's just the tip of the iceberg of their musical ability.

Their 16-track setlist also featured popular hits from their previous albums including 2011's "Pressure & Time," "Face of Light," and bluesy-folk b-side "Jordan," as originally heard on their 2012 album Head Down. Throughout the set, Rival Sons played the majority of songs from Feral Roots including "Imperial Joy," "Sugar on the Bone," "All Directions," and "End Forever," among other tracks.

For their encore, the Sons bring out the mighty guitar driven tune "Keep On Swinging" before concluding the show the same way they end the album: with uplifting track "Shooting Stars." On the album you can hear the echo of the choir supporting lead singer Jay Buchanan, but live it is a transformative experience. Buchanan focuses his whole energy to the crowd making it a synchronized performance between musician and audience.
