Nathan Willett of Cold War Kids Performed a 6-Song Livestream Set

Last night (March 31) Nathan Willett of Cold War Kids performed a 30-minute acoustic set for fans. This was done through Billboard’s Live At-Home Concert series. Willett took over Billboard’s Facebook page to raise money for My Friend’s Place, which is an organization that helps youth who are experiencing homelessness move toward a stable and self-sufficient lifestyle.

Before beginning the set, Willett checked in with fans to see how they are doing during these stressful and scary times.

“How you are guys doing? I hope everyone is doing alright, staying inside, staying safe.”

Willett performed a 6-song set with more of the classic Cold War Kids songs. He opened the set with him playing the band’s song “Can We Hang On?”

This song was off of the band’s album L.A. Divine. After the opener, Willett transitioned into “So Tired Up” off of the same album.

A highlight from the set was when Willett performed CWK’s “We Used to Vacation.” He switched from guitar to his piano for this special performance.

After seeing multiple fan requests, Willett decided to perform the band's song “Hospital Beds.”

“The song 'Hospital Beds' is extremely appropriate, maybe like too much so. I didn’t know, but we’ll do it anyway.”

He dedicated the song to all the medical workers who are risking their lives to save the lives of others during this global pandemic.

Willett also performed “Who’s Gonna Love Me Now? And closed his set with “First,” which is arguably CWK's most popular song.

“First” is in the top 10 most played songs by the band at 207 times over their career.

Nathan Willett has also been performing some more deep cut songs on the CWK's Instagram page, so make sure to check it out for Livestream’s in the future.
