RIP Gregg Allman: See Final Set with Allman Brothers Band in 2014

It's been three years since the music world lost Gregg Allman, founder of the great rock band The Allman Brothers Band. On May 27th, 2017 he lost his battle with liver cancer.

His last concert ever was in Atlanta at his own Laid Back Festival alongside ZZ Top at Lakewood Amphitheatre on October 29, 2016.

But today we're honoring his legacy by taking a look back at his last show with his claim to fame group The Allman Brothers Band.

The show occurred on October 28th, 2014 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City during their Beacon Theatre Run. The performance carried an impressive three sets and two encores, equating to 24 songs.

The first set featured 11 songs and it fired off with an extended jam of "Little Martha" which segued into "Mountain Jam." After four songs of long, loose jams, they did two Sonny Boy Williamson covers including "One Way Out" and "Good Morning, School Girl." The set ended on "You Don't Love Me" by Willie Cobbs with a jam of "Soul Serenade" by King Curtis.

The second set lifted with a cover of "Statesboro Blues" by Blind Willie McTell. During the set they worked "Black Hearted Woman" which featured a Grateful Dead jam of "The Other One." After seven songs they ended the set with "In Memory of Elizabeth Reed."

The third set carried four songs and kicked off with "Melissa" They did a "Mountain Jam" reprise within "Southbound" and ended the set with "Will the Circle be Unbroken?" by William MacEwan.

The first encore carried "Whipping Post" and the last song Gregg Allman performed with the band was a cover of Muddy Waters' "Trouble No More," preceded by "thank you's" from the band.
