Setlist Viewing Guide: Red Hot Chili Peppers at Lollapalooza 2006

This week's "Lolla From the Vault" webcast series features Red Hot Chili Pepper's headlining Lollapalooza performance from 2006. During this era, the Chili Peppers were on their Stadium Arcadium Tour, supporting their album of the same name. It was the last album and tour that featured John Frusciante before he left the band in 2009. He rejoined in 2019 after 10 years.

The last time RHCP played Lolla before this was in 1992, back when the festival was a traveling road show. Since 2005, Perry Farrell's festival has taken place annually at Chicago's Grant Park and lasts over the course of four days in the hot summer month of August. And since 2011, the festival now visits South America and Europe each year.

The 2006 iteration saw RHCP headlining alongside Queens of the Stone Age, Kanye West, The Raconteurs, and Ween. They performed on the AT&T Stage on the final night of the festival, August 6th.

The set will be livestreamed on May 21st at 8PM ET on YouTube. To supplement the livestream, we've put together a Setlist Viewing Guide so you can relive 2006-era RHCP like a true fan.

Their setlist carried 17 songs, including one encore. They open with an intro jam and then dive into "Can't Stop." You'll hear 7 songs off of Stadium Arcadium, including "Dani California," "Readymade," "Snow ((Hey Oh))," and "Tell Me Baby."

RHCP staples also grace the setlist like "Scar Tissue," "Right On Time," and main set closer "By the Way." They also pull out some of their 1980s material with a performance of "Me & My Friends."

Other highlights included their rendition of "For Emily, Wherever I May Find Her" by Simon & Garfunkel. And lastly, their encore which sees them closing out the set with "Give It Away" and a "You're Gonna Get Yours" intro.
