Time to break out your red shoes and dance the blues, because David Bowie’s band is returning to the stage for a winter 2019 tour.
A BOWIE CELEBRATION: The David Bowie Alumni Tour, which honors the late singer, kicks off on September 26th and runs through March.
According to the website, the 32-date tour promises
“an unforgettable and critically acclaimed evening of Bowie songs with world-class vocalists and an ever rotating mix of hits and deep cuts.”
The show will feature musicians who’ve played with Bowie throughout the years– ’70s era band members Mike Garson and Earl Slick, ‘80s era bassist Carmine Rojas and ‘00s era guitarist Gerry Leonard. The band also has Corey Glover (Living Colour) and Bernard Fowler (Tackhead, The Rolling Stones) on guest vocals.
Westworld’s Evan Rachel Wood, who has guested with the alumni band a few times, claims that it’s as close as you’d get to a real Bowie show: “It’s not a cover band. It’s the actual band.”
