Songs We Hope Steely Dan Brings Back on 2019 U.S. Sweet Tour

Founding member and frontman Donald Fagen and his band are on the road once again for the Steely Dan 2019 “Sweet” Tour. Since kicking off at the end of August, the Sweet Tour has fulfilled Fagen’s continual promise of keeping Steely Dan’s legacy alive after the passing of co-founder Walter Becker back in 2017.

Thus far, the “Sweet” Tour has hit eight cities across the United States and after a recent announcement, is set to continue through the end of December following a few brief residencies during which the classic rock band is scheduled to perform some of their greatest albums in their entireties.

This unique approach to the tour has fans lining up to pick their favorite Steely Dan album they want to hear live. From Aja and The Royal Scam to Gaucho and Greatest Hits, Fagen and company have picked some of their biggest records to perform on the upcoming leg of their 2019 tour.

However, let’s not get too ahead of ourselves as their current traveling tour is just as exciting as what is to come. Performing a variety of hits stemming from mostly Aja and an assembly of covers, Steely Dan is reminding fans across the country why they are four-time Grammy Award winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees.

Yet, while the band has continued to show off their musicianship on this tour, we can’t help but consider what is missing. With numerous hits off of Aja, Gaucho and The Royal Scam already being played on this leg of the tour, it’s hard to imagine the need to include anything else. However, as fans, we are entitled to our own wishes when it comes to seeing our favorite band live. From production to setlist, there is always a small bit of lingering hope that Steely Dan will make a few changes or additions to the tour’s show.

With that in mind, we’ve compiled a list of Steely Dan hits that they have yet to perform on this tour, but that we hope to hear sometime before tour’s end. Check it out!
