Billy Strings Kicks Off Meet at the Drive-In Tour w/ 20+ Song Set

Over the weekend bluegrass rocker Billy Strings kicked off his "Meet at the Drive-In Tour" with three back-to-back shows at the Mohegan Sun Arena Drive-in in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

The shows kicked off on September 11th with a 20-song set and continued all weekend with loads of originals and covers, including the live debut of Tom Petty's “Time to Move On,” David Grisman’s “16/16” and Bill Monroe’s “Close By."

Each night featured a two-part set that saw strings performing plenty of licks off his 2019 album Home. Across all three nights, he performed nearly every song off of the LP. He also worked in cuts off of the Billy Strings EP and Turmoil & Tinfoil.

Covers dominated the sets though. He did renditions of songs by the likes of The Monkees, The String Cheese Incident, Grateful Dead, J.J. Cale, Bob Dylan, Widespread Panic, and Gordon Lightfoot.
