John Mayer Played a 22-Song Set On His Birthday in 2013

Happy Birthday to guitar playing, pop-rock singing dream machine John Mayer, who turned 43 today, October 16. If today sounds familiar, it's because Mayer and his Dead & Company bandmate Bob Weir SHARE a birthday! So Happy Birthday to Bobby as well. Fun fact? Dead & Company have never played a show on their joint birthday. So for today's Setlist History Birthday Edition, we've pulled out a concert Mayer performed on October 16, 2013.

Seven years ago today Mayer was on the first European leg of his Born and Raised Tour. The tour included a birthday show at the Forum in Copenhagen, and the setlist was STACKED with hits.

Featuring 22 songs, Born and Raised fell right behind Continuum for most performed album of the night. Seven Continuum songs blessed the setlist, but all his other studio albums up until that point had a moment in the spotlight too.

The night opened with "Queen of California" and he played several original numbers including beloved hits like "Slow Dancing in a Burning Room," "Your Body Is a Wonderland," and "Waiting on the World to Change." The only cover he did happened to be Grateful Dead's "Friend of the Devil"!

The main set ended on "Why Georgia" and then Mayer indulged his Danish fans with a three-song encore that ended on his soulful crooner "Gravity."

We wish Mayer the happiest of Birthdays today.
