Setlist Playlist: Exploring Songs on BROCKHAMPTON's 2019 Tour

Your favorite 21st century boyband is back on tour!

Texas rap collective BROCKHAMPTON are on the road in support of their fifth studio album, GINGER, on a trek titled Heaven Belongs to You.

The group consists of vocalists Kevin Abstract, Matt Champion, Merlyn Wood and Dom McLennon, vocalists/producers Joba and Bearface, and producers Romil Hemnani, Jabari Manwa, and Kiko Merley. Also joining them are graphic designer Henock "HK" Sileshi, photographer Ashlan Grey, web designer Roberto Ontenient and manager Jon Nunes.

The Heaven Belongs to You Tour kicked off October 26 at the PNE Forum in Vancouver and is scheduled to conclude with December 13 with two shows at The Hollywood Palladium in Los Angeles (one earlier in the day, and one later).

BROCKHAMPTON have been performing a slew of new songs off their new album in their 19-song sets, including singles "I BEEN BORN AGAIN," "IF YOU PRAY RIGHT," "BOY BYE" AND "NO HALO." They've also been performing cuts from older albums like 2018'S iridescence and 2017's SATURATION, SATURATION II and SATURATION III.

"BOY BYE"

This track was the third single off the band's new album, GINGER, which dropped in August. "BOY BYE" features vocals and production from every member of the group, marking their first song to include everyone.

"'BOY BYE' was the first song conceived for the album," Dom McLennon said.

"The song is super playful ... I wanted to do something that mixed the playfulness of a song like 'Gucci Gang' with the seriousness of a song like 'All Falls Down' — but 'All Falls Down' has this playful self-consciousness to it ... So that’s where I came up with fun stuff like Everybody ask me how I deal with my depression, man, look I don’t got the answer to your question."

BROCKHAMPTON debuted this song at Bilbao BBK Live in Spain back in July, and have played it 15 times since.

"BLEACH"

Fans first heard "BLEACH" on "Billy Star," a short film released by the group in December 2017. It was officially released on their third studio album, SATURATION III, as its seventh track.

The song features pop singer Ryan Beatty on the chorus. "I had done background vocals for 'QUEER,' but we had never written together or done, like, a real song together," Beatty said.

"Romil made the track, me and Ian were there. Dom came in. And Ian like sang the melody and it was that instant feeling. We tracked the vocals, people came into the room and I just remember feeling after we put the hook in like, 'this song is special.' I just felt it immediately."

"BLEACH" has become a fan-favorite over the years, and right now is the group's eighth most-played song live, having been performed 102 times since its 2017 debut.

"SUGAR"

Ryan Beatty also lends his vocals to this wistful GINGER track."Spendin’ all my nights alone, waiting for you to call me," he sings, "You’re the only one I want by my side when I fall asleep."

"I don’t know what makes a song connect anymore, and I don’t think people really know," Kevin Abstract said, of the album.

“[GINGER] is very summery right now. Even though it’s maybe rooted in sadness, the goal is to make it feel right and to uplift and to help people get through."

The group has been performing this song towards the end of their set, and have played it 10 times live so far.

"NO HALO"

This song was the fourth single off GINGER, but fans had speculated it would be called "I'M SURE I'LL FIND IT" after hearing a preview. It features vocals from Deb Never and (surprise!) Ryan Beatty.

JOBA tweeted out his appreciation for his fellow bandmates with the hashtag #NOHALO in August.
