Tool Plays Last Show of 2019 Fear Inoculum Tour in DC w/ 14 Songs

Tool, the enigmatic pioneers of progressive metal, brought their signature head-banging music and elusive performance art to the sold-out Capitol One Arena last night (November 25). The band has been on the Fear Inoculum Tour, celebrating the release of their long-awaited album Fear Inoculum, the first album released by the band in 13 years.

Tool kicked off their tour October 13 in Sacramento, hitting spots across North America from LA to Chicago, before closing shop on November 25 in Washington, DC at Capital One Arena.

But fear not, Tool fans, the metal icons have just announced an extended 2020 tour, heading to spots in North America again before rocking out arenas in Australia and New Zealand.

The band has been playing hits off of their latest album, which has been hitting major milestones such as the title track "Fear Inoculum" being recognized as the longest song to grace the Billboard 100. The band has been playing other Tool hits like "Schism," serving fans a setlist of 14 songs from their impressive discography. See the setlist from their last show!

They've been kicking off their shows night after night with the hit "Fear Inoculum," showing fans their musical evolution as well as introduce the new era of Tool that we are blessed with. Check out this performance below!

Despite the emphasis on the new album, Tool still proves that their artistry and dedication to performance hasn't changed, with the band performing in front of images of works of art from other artists. Longtime Tool fans are treated to nostalgic performances of hits like "Jambi," proving Tool's place as both icons of heavy metal and a band that thrives on being as unmistakable as possible, from their progressive rock elements to the subvertness of frontman Maynard James Keenan, who played in the back throughout the show in Boston on November 18.

After an intermission, the band continues with a medley of their greatest hits before closing the night out with "Stinkfist" from their 1996 album, giving fans a taste of the new at the beginning of the night as well as an homage to the old. Check out the performance below!

They also enlisted help from opener Killing Joke keyboardist Roi Robertson on "Descending," giving him the space to do a keyboard solo!
