Fontaines D.C. Performed 17-Song Set for VR Livestream Concert

Irish post-punk rockers Fontaines D.C. performed another livestream concert last night, November 23, but this time in VR mode.

The concert took place at O2 Academy Brixton in London and fans got to actually feel like they were THERE thanks to Melody VR, a company that allows you to watch live concerts in virtual reality, a trailblazing concept during pandemic times.

The immersive livestream show cannot be viewed again, so we'll do our best to lay out what was played. Interactive features during the show included viewpoint selection, an edge fans don't have at a real sold out show where often times you can get stuck in the back with an obstructed view.

The five-piece performed a 17-song set featuring tracks off their debut Dogrel and their newest album A Hero's Death - which was just nominated (today!) for a 2021 Grammy in the best rock album category. A great stride for a young band.

They played nine songs off that record, including opening song "A Lucid Dream." Their three most performed songs to date were included in the set as well - "Chequeless Reckless," "Too Real" and "Boys in the Better Land." The set ended on "I Was Not Born."
