Metallica, Muse Lead Setlist.fm's Top Tours of 2019

2019 saw some of the biggest, best and loudest tours ever and as always, Setlist.fm was there to give you more than just what our name implies. But who were Setlist readers most interested in this year? Well, here’s the top 10 most searched for tours on Setlist.fm for 2019!

P!nk – By Larry Marano

10. P!nk - Beautiful Trauma Tour

One of pop’s top acts, P!nk never fails to impress with a live show, working in theatrics, mind-blowing stunts and her own unique voice and attitude. The Beautiful Trauma tour went into its second year in 2019, trekking across Europe before coming back to the US for a huge wrap-up in November. Check out Setlist’s review of the tour’s final show in Austin, TX.

9. Iron Maiden - Legacy of the Beast Tour

Metal legends Iron Maiden cut no corners when it comes to their Legacy of the Beast Tour. Taking inspiration from a unique source, their own mobile game, the band performs their long list of hits (and now and then a deep track or two) coupled with an intense stage show that takes them and audiences through four different “realms.” Check out what the band have been playing on tour, some awesome Setlist Highlights and, if you’re in Australia or the EU, where you can catch them when they continue the tour in 2020!

8. Zac Brown Band - The Owl Tour: Summer 2019

Zac Brown Band released their latest album The Owl in 2019 and with it came The Owl Tour: Summer 2019. Why so many owls? According to Zac Brown in an interview with Billboard “I don’t know what it is, I’m just really drawn to them.” Just like Setlist users were drawn to the Zac Brown Band in 2019, I guess! We’ve got some Tour Highlights and a bunch of Setlist Spoilers for you, but if you want to avoid them? Hey that’s fine, since the band has announced additional 2020 dates for The Owl Tour.

Bon Jovi – By Shirlaine Forrest

7. Bon Jovi - This House Is Not For Sale Tour

After launching in 2017, Bon Jovi’s latest tour didn’t show any signs of slowing down as it drew near it’s wrap up in October 2019. But that’s not surprising for a band that’s produced decades worth of hits. You can see what they played in the UK this past summer and even take a more in-depth look at some songs from the full tour’s setlist.

6. Ariana Grande - Sweetener World Tour

Ariana Grande’s Sweetener tour couldn’t have come at a sweeter time for the pop star. She released two chart-topping albums only six months apart, Sweetener and Thank U, Next. Grande brought new music along with back-up dancers, an incredible stage and multiple costumes with her on a tour that ran from March until December. If your sweet tooth can handle more, we’ve got coverage from the beginning of the tour, the scoop on what she changed up for the European leg and of course some Setlist Highlights.

twenty one pilots – By Jordan Corey

5. twenty one pilots - Bandito Tour

The highly imaginative Bandito tour saw twenty one pilots transport their fans to the city of Dema, the setting of their 2018 album Trench. While playing some of the show in their trademark black balaclavas, throughout the concert they dropped those, making things feel strangely intimate despite the multiple stages, pyro, special effects and more. The tour wrapped after a little over a year in November 2019, but you can relive it with our coverage, taking a look at the songs they played and some special highlights from the last leg of the tour.

4. Elton John - Farewell Yellow Brick Road

All good things must come to an end. Of course, if you’re Elton John, you can take your time saying goodbye. Elton set out on his three year long goodbye tour in 2018, with 2019 taking him across the world and seeing him play over 100 shows on the tour already. Setlist took a few guesses at what we thought he’d be playing in the tour’s future, took a closer look at the tour itself and sent some very special 72nd birthday wishes to the man himself.

The Rolling Stones – By Chris Tuite

3. The Rolling Stones - No Filter Tour

What is there to be said about The Rolling Stones that isn’t captured in just hearing the name “The Rolling Stones?” One of the most influential rock bands in history went back on tour in June 2019, a slight delay after Mick Jagger required heart surgery. But it hasn’t affected his performance, he’s still singing and strutting night after night alongside Keith Richards. Setlist has plenty on the tour, including exclusive live photos, Setlist Highlights, some Setlist Spoilers and a look at the songs on the constantly changing setlist.

2. Muse - Simulation Theory World Tour

Muse definitely took the “Simulation” part of their Simulation Theory World Tour to heart. With LED-clad dancers, and glasses, plus a massive metal skeleton that hung over the stage, the band performed their Apocalypse-ready music across the world. They even threw in some new songs from their 2018 album, also titled Simulation Theory. You can get more of the reality of the simulation on Setlist, including taking a deeper look at the songs they played on tour, our requests for songs the band needed to bring back to their live show and taking a look at the odds some of our favorites would show up at the end of the run.

1. Metallica - WorldWired Tour

This mind-blowing tour from metal innovators Metallica tops our list for 2019. Their WorldWired tour continued, finally wrapping up in October 2019 after additional legs in the US and Europe. They set attendance records, they switched up their setlists, they even found time to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their S&M live album with help from San Francisco Symphony Orchestra. Along the way, we put on our psychic hats to try and figure out what they’d play live in Europe and gave you some Setlist HIghlights. And, of course, we rocked.

That’s it for 2019! Thank you so much for spending this year with us! 2020 is on the horizon with some great tours having already been announced. Want to stay in the loop? Keep your eyes on Setlist.fm.
