Black Sabbath Played 11-Song Set on Ozzy's Birthday in 1975

John Michael Osbourne, better known as Ozzy, turned 72 today, December 3rd! It's been quite a rollercoaster for fans of the Prince of Darkness as his "No More Tours 2" tour has been rescheduled several times over the past few years. And now with a pandemic, we're not sure when we'll get to see the Oz man back on the stage. But luckily, we've got an archive of setlists to take us back to some historic moments and in honor of Ozzy's Birthday, we've found a set from this day in 1975 with Black Sabbath.

The time was during the Sabotage Tour era, in promotion of their sixth studio album of the same name. The concert itself was quite special, as it took place at Madison Square Garden in New York City and it sold out right away. Opening the night was Aerosmith, and in honor of Ozzy's 27th birthday, the stage featured a birthday cake in which a woman dressed as a devil popped out of. Yes, it was quite a riot!

Sabbath performed an 11-song set, shorter than the other sets on the Sabotage Tour. They opened with "Hole in the Sky" and performed other songs off the album throughout the night like "Am I Going Insane (Radio)" and "Symptom of the Universe." They also included hit songs off Paranoid like "Iron Man" and "War Pigs." Other hits included "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" before ending the set on "Paranoid."
