About

Started on classic '60s as a kid listening to Beatles, Stones, Who, Kinks etc. As an early teen it was Zeppelin, Purple, Free, Rod/Faces, etc. Later in teens came Glam (T.Rex, Slade, Bowie etc) and then some Punk/ New Wave (Clash, Jam, Pistols, Television, Talking Heads, Blondie etc). Oasis led my interest/appreciation of BritPop and listening to bands such as Blur, Super Furry Animals and Bluetones and interest in then contemporary American artists like Beck and Wilco

Hello! I am currently working on a project of the U2 concerts from London back in 2018, where we collect videos from the audience and edit them together with audio from the concerts. This project is completely made by fans, so no one will earn any money from this and the project will be shared for free.
Here is an example of Dublin 2018: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cPslGdNEzD0

Did you by any chance record any videos from these nights in London? (Or maybe know someone who did?)

Hi,
are you sure that you've seen Sting in Wembley on 16.12.1986?
Sting played on 16.12.1987 in Wembley.

What do you think?

Hi What is your memories of INXS Brixton Academy Oct 94?

Went to see the final night of Taylor Swift's 'The Red Tour' at the O2 Arena last night. Great songs, great production and great show. Taylor is a beautiful and talented girl whose smile could light up the whole plant, she deserves her success. It was my daughter's first concert. Taylor is someone you know will still be prominent in the music industry well into the future.

A great evening at the Royal Albert Hall for the late Robert Plant and The Sensational Space Shifters performance. Robert was on form and whilst the show was short it was excellent. He brings new life to Zeppelin material and includes a number of other great interpretations. The last show of the current tour

Last night, a continuation of my affection for The Stones, although I never really got to them until my teens in the early '70s and after The Beatles had split. I am perhaps a bit of an outsider in that I really enjoy(ed) the mid '70s material such as 'Goats Head Soup', 'It's Only Rock n Roll' and 'Black and Blue'. It was on the Black and Blue tour that I first saw the band live. Crap seats up in the gods at Earls Court, but towards the end I left my friend and ran for what seemed an eternity to get down to the front to witness Jagger pouring a bucket of water over his head and have black eye shadow running down his face. The phallic symbol, the serpent spitting confetti and the Lotus Stage set. Great memories and of course this was Woody's first full tour with the band. Anyway 30C, sunshine, Hyde Park and the Stones, probably the high point of summer 2013.

Thinking back to The Eagles at Twickenham back in June 2006. I didn't go to an Eagles show back in the 1970's because of some silly teenage snobbery that they weren't The Who, Led Zeppelin or the Rolling Stones: Stupid huh! In the seventies The Eagles were to some almost as uncool as ABBA. I liked them too;D see I am now big enough to admit it. Anyway I took my wife to the show which was of course amazing, all the classics. I also very much enjoyed the Dixie Chicks and immediately brought two of their CDs (remember those?) from Amazon. Have recently stated listening to the Chicks again, great band. Hope they get back to the studio and touring again soon.

Remember heading out to the Royal Victoria Docks in September 1988 to see Jean-Michel Jarre for by far the wettest concert I have ever been to and having been at the Who's Charlton concert in 1976 that is saying something. Afterwards we had to walk for what seemed like forever to get to a tube station to get us back to South Kensington. The music whilst not my usual fare was impressive (Destinations Docklands) and the fireworks above and around the mostly since demolished dock buildings and other facilities spectacular, even in the rain.

In 2003 I was in Gijon in Asturias attending a Spanish language course and was lucky enough to be able to see a concert by Bob Dylan at the Plaza de Torres, a unique concert experience for me. After we went to a cideria to sample some of the local apple based products

My most vivid concert memories are the lasers used by The Who during 'Won't Get Fooled Again' at Hammersmith Odeon in 1975. Bruce Springsteen opneing his 1985 show with 'Born In The USA at Wembley Stadium, U2 coming on stage at Wembley Stadium in 1987 playing an acoustic 'Stand By Me', the screams when Paul McCartney sand a solo 'Yesterday' at the Empire Pool in 1976, Elton John's cocktail cabinet at his show with Ray Cooper at the Rainbow in 1977, the chaos of crushed seating flying around the pogo dancing audience at the Clash's Rainbow concert in 1977 and many more...

Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers is one of my favourite bands, although I've only seen them once live. Brought the first album on the day it came out at the Virgin Store when it was in New Oxford Street. Anyway, I actually only saw them as a support act to Nils Lofgren (now one of Bruce Springsteen's guitarists) who was building his own solo career at that time, this was at Hammersmith Odeon. Nils used to play guitar and do somersaults off a trampoline he had on stage.

Memories: Saw a band called Clover twice in the 1970s, once supporting Thin Lizzy and Once Supporting Lynyrd Skynyrd. Huey Lewis was a member of the band at that time and the Thin Lizzy fans will note that Huey Lewis was announced by Phil Lynott as a harmonica player on Thin Lizzy's 'Live and Dangerous' album. I later saw Huey headlining at Hammersmith Odeon himself, fronting Huey Lewis & The News. Also, Saw Graham Parker & The Rumours support Thin Lizzy twice and once of his band members is also announced on 'Live & Dangerous'

As the days go buy more and more concert memories flood back into mind, Cropredy 1999! Hadn't thought about that one in years

Brilliant site guys, I feel like my concert ticket collection has been given a new life. Pity my memory can't recall the setlist data, I could pitch in some obvious ones but this wild be guessing. I'm so impressed with what people remember, or perhaps they have a stack of NMEs and Rolling Stone in their basements ;)
